Michigan leads in construction and manufacturing occupations but its noted there are over 1,000 health care/social assistance apprentices. Russ also introduced his four U.S. Department his Apprenticeship Training Representatives: Marybeth Koski, Steve Long, Stephanie Vomvolakis and Michiko Alvarenga.
Both days were full of educational and informative sessions with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Office of Apprenticeship, Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, Michigan Department of Education and the Office of Career and Technical Education, UAW, MUST Careers, Michigan Manufacturers Association and The Luminous Group, followed by Christopher Swanson, Sherriff of Genesee County as the keynote speaker.
